How long does it take to publish my book from contract signing to a book in my hand? Generally it will take around 2-3 months. However this can take longer, or less time depending on the type of book, or if it needs illustrations. The end result we promise will be a book that will attract they eye.

I want marketing, can you promise me my book will sell? Yes we can provide marketing, no we cannot promise sales, and if any publisher EVER makes these kinds of promises, you would be smart to get up and leave immediately. No publisher, marketer or agent can forecast market trends or a public's reaction to any book.
Can I include images, artwork or drawings in my book? Yes you can. However, keep in mind color images in a book will effect its end cost. Black and white imagery is at no extra charge.
What size do you make your "standard" books? All of our book unless the author wants something different are 6"x9", and are printed with an .11 point font, usually using Book Antiqua, or Bookman Old Style. Children's books are usually 9"x8" or 9"x7"
Do you put out a quality book. I am concerned about my book being its best! The books that we put out are some of the best quality that you will ever see, we use gloss covers (unless you want matte) and we use heavy interior paper and razor sharp printing. Come into our offices and we can show you hundreds we have done.
I have a children's book. Can I get help with making sure it is age or grade appropriate? Yes we can help, we have access to an Elementary school teacher with over 10 years experience, who is certified in reading level judging. She can look at your children's book, and make suggestions as to word usage, age and grade level targeting, and will even take it and test it in her classroom, so we can see kids reactions to the story line.
Who gets the Copyright on my book? Simply put, you do. We will prepare the paperwork and send it in for you. The Copyright is in your name, and you will get a certificate in about 11 to 14 months. Yes, the Library of Congress takes that long.
Do you charge a separation fee if I want to leave your services? No, we do not charge anything. You can leave anytime and for any reason. All we ask is to please put the reason in writing.
How does events work with your company? Once your book is done, we will have our Marketing person send you a listing of the common locations that we can get you into for a book signing and/or reading event. Also, you will have the chance to give a list of locations that you would like to have signings and events at, and our marketer will then make earnest efforts to attain them.
Will I sell lots of books at book signings? Selling books at signings is something we all want to do, however the more important thing to think of is the exposure to readers and who knows who else. Signings are events where depending on the venue you can sell one book or one hundred. BUT! Saying that, you have to reach out to the walker by. Say hi... Engage them. We offer classes on this to our authors for free.
What happens to all my files when the book is done? We give every author a CD with JPG images of their book so they may use these images for advertising on their own if they wish. We also provide you with proof copies for your files.
I don't live in Michigan. Is that a problem? Not at all, we have published authors from Quebec, Canada, Great Britain, Florida, Utah, Virginia and many places in between. We can arrange teleconferences, email, instant messaging, etc... to keep the lines of communication open.
How do you keep track of everyone? We take publishing seriously, and this is an area where things can go badly very quickly. Thus, we have designed our own author-tracking system called ATP. We wrote the code and tested it. As of June 25th, 2010, we have been using it and it has really helped a lot. We would be proud to show it off to you if you come in for a visit.
Are you certified? Certified in what? Our designer is an ADOBE Certified Expert. Our staff are all experienced in what they do. There are no licenses or certifications in the State of Michigan for publishing. However we are a member of the IBPA. We have an extremely qualified staff on hand, and we always are looking to address our growing needs.
Are you licensed to do book publishing? There is no such thing as a license for publishing in the State of Michigan. However, we are registered as a Book Publisher with the State of Michigan. We are also an LLC, and we are members of the local Chamber of Commerce.
Do you have limits as to what you publish? Yes, we do. We do not publish extreme erotica, porn, etc. We know there are stories where erotica is a component, or there are explicit descriptions of certain types of acts involved. We will look at these on a case-by-case basis. We judge all books by their content. We look for a fit between us as a publisher and you as an author.
I have cash now, will you publish me? Sorry, we are NOT a "puppy mill" publisher. Yes, money is good. However, books that have potential are better. We do occasionally turn down manuscripts. However, these usually are based on our company policies of what we won't publish, or possibly the story runs too close to something already done. Our philosophy is simple. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard. Sometimes, though, we just don't feel comfortable with a manuscript.
My book is not the best. I don't have very good spelling skills. Can you help, or will you turn me down? We run into issues with manuscripts every day. Some are in better shape grammatically than others, however, that is what editing and/or proof-reading is for. We offer the service to take care of these issues if wanted, and never have turned a author down due to their spelling or grammar. We will help you if you are willing to take the help.
